Lumentum solutions address the continually increasing needs for higher data transmission speeds, fiber optic network capacity and network agility. This is driven by rapid growth in both the number of higher bandwidth broadband connections associated with mobile devices, and the number and scale of data centers. These hyperscale data centers require fiber optic links to enable the higher speeds and increased scale necessary to deliver high bandwidth video and other services.

Lumentum products, from TrueFlex® transport modules and tunable transmission modules to optical transceivers and pump lasers, enable flexibility and scalability for the broadest range of communication channels supporting the continual demand for lower-cost capacity.

Our TrueFlex colorless/directionless (CD) and colorless/directionless/contentionless (CDC) ROADM architectures are key enablers towards the goal of realizing a scalable and dynamic network. Functional integration—a holistic approach that brings together diverse transport functionality such as optical switching, amplification, and monitoring onto a single high-density line card such as the ROADM-on-a-blade—helps you realize the full potential of your network.

Lumentum offers a broad line of pump lasers for optical amplification. The 980 nm 14-pin S26, S27, S28, S30, and S31 series products that are used in erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) offer operating power levels from 100 mW to 950 mW. The M12, M27 and M28 lasers are low-profile 10-pin small-form-factor packaged pump lasers. Raman pump laser series S34, S35, and S36 are housed in an industry-standard, 14-pin butterfly package. Power options vary from 300 mW to 600 mW covering wavelengths from 1420 to 1510 nm.

Our whiteboxes offer users the flexibility of constructing their own need-based transport systems using standalone photonic-layer building blocks that are independently addressable and controllable through standardized APIs.

Our tunable portfolio covers the broadest range of tunable transmission products including a narrow linewidth micro-integrable tunable laser assembly (ITLA), a dual channel intradyne coherent receiver (ICR), a 40G DP-QPSK coherent transponder, high-performance, OIF-compliant modulators, and a wide range of tunable XFP and world-leading tunable SFP+ products for meeting ever-increasing bandwidth demands.
